in Pakistan
Basketball is popular in some areas of Pakistan, including in the cities of Lahore and Karachi because of the national federation of Basketball called Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF) headquartered in Lahore (founded in 1958). The Gordon College in Rawalpindi was the first one to took desperate measures and began playing Basketball. Following this, many other schools and colleges choose to introduce the game and train boys. Later there was a Pakistan Amateur Basketball Federation, which was inaugurated in 1952 and began in 1953.
